Family Fire Pit Festival

Warm up to some historic fun!

Gather round the fire pit and enjoy a wintertime adventure! Explore the site to discover unique activities at each of our special fire pits. Learn to play the spoons or sing a sea chantey, hear a ghost story or meet a Revolutionary War or Civil War soldier! Check out the 2020 Eagle Scout projects bringing bat and bird boxes to enhance the site.  BYO camp chairs and refreshments if desired. If you get cold outside despite the fires, head into the Soldier’s Barracks to enjoy Affectionately Yours: Four Centuries of Military Love Letters pop-up exhibit. Guided tours (11 am, 1 pm) will focus on the contributions of African Americans to the Fort’s history from the 18^th to the 20^th century. Masks and social distancing required.
