This annual event is used by the Kingdom of Lucerne to train new recruits, but the public is welcome to try their hand at some selected programs or to watch. 10:00 - 16:00 World War II Event - Break Out at Normandy "Operation Cobra" Category : General The "Lightning Men" of the 78th Infantry, 309th Regiment landed in France on November 22, 1944. Their purpose was to fight for freedom, democracy, the American way, and most of all for each other. Come to Fort Mifflin on this historic weekend and witness the re-enactment of "Operation Cobra - Breakout at Normany." Axis and Allies will recreate that awesome struggle and you can expereince it. Weapons, uniforms and equipment demos throughout the weekend. Two battles each day (check for times soon) and plenty of sutlers with actual and replica WW II wares and weapons.
