Widely regarded as one of the most haunted sites in the country, National Historic Landmark Fort Mifflin invites visitors to explore the intersection of history and mystery with programs appealing to novice and experienced investigators as well as curious history lovers. Fort Mifflin is available for private paranormal investigations throughout the year. Certain dates may be blacked out due to booking or other programming events. To book a private investigation, please contact the main office via phone (215-685-4167) or email (email@example.com). The Fort offers two programs for investigators of all skill levels:
The Fort is available for 6-hour investigations Sunday through Friday (not available for Saturdays), 6 PM – 12 AM. The cost is $750 for up to 10 participants, plus an additional $75 per person for groups of 11 or more.
The Fort is available for groups to stay overnight Fridays and Saturdays, 5pm to 10am. Groups may arrive after the Fort closes to the public and must be clear of public areas by the time the site re-opens (Fort Mifflin is open 10 AM – 4 PM). The cost is $1,000 for up to 10 participants, plus an additional $99 per person for groups of 11 or more.
PAYMENT AND INFORMATION:
A non-refundable deposit ($200 for 6-HR, $300 for Overnight) is required to secure your date, and the remainder is due upon arrival. Fort Mifflin accepts payment in the form of cash, Visa, MasterCard or checks. Checks should be made out to “Fort Mifflin on the Delaware.” Payment of the balance due by credit card is subject to a 3% fee. To avoid the fee be prepared with cash or check. Please Note: To ensure the safety of visitors and the historic site, a staff member will be present at all times. We do not provide investigation equipment. All participants are required to sign a waiver.
In addition to private investigations, Fort Mifflin also hosts public programs throughout the year. Whether you’re a hardcore investigator or just curious, these programs are designed to both highlight the Fort’s years of service and give you a journey into the unknown.

Join our seasoned host group who are anxious to share their experiences (at Fort Mifflin and elsewhere) with you and demonstrate techniques and technology to help you get the most out of your experience. Whether you are a skeptic, a believer, or want to check out Fort Mifflin after dark, this program is right for you. 7 PM – Midnight. $49 per person, advance purchase required.
CANDLELIGHT GHOST TOURS
2022 Dates: Fridays and Saturdays, October 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 28, 29, and Sunday, October 30. Check the events page for the full schedule. What better way to prepare for Halloween than a tour at night through a truly haunted Revolutionary War fortress? Fort Mifflin’s Candlelight Tours provide and authentic Halloween experience! No actors! No decorations! Just you and the spirits of Fort Mifflin. A uniformed guide will lead you on a journey through history to learn about the Fort’s history and the spirits that may dwell within the walls.
SLEEP WITH THE GHOSTS
Saturday, October 22 – Sunday, October 23, 2022. Check the events page for more information. Have a Halloween experience unlike anything you’ve ever had before by spending the night in what some consider one of the most haunted sites in America! Take a guided tour and learn paranormal techniques in workshops and group investigations through the Fort. Actual sleep is optional! Advance purchase required. Limited Availability. Must be at least 18 years of age to participate in this event.

From Downtown Philadelphia South on I-95, take Exit 15 Island Avenue/Enterprise Avenue. At end of exit ramp, you will be on Enterprise Avenue. At stop sign turn left onto Fort Mifflin Road. Follow road, through short tunnel, to the first left turn. After left hand turn, follow signs straight into the Fort. Free Parking is on the left.
From Delaware County North on I-95, take Exit 13 – Valley Forge/West 291. Bear right and follow sign for Island Avenue. At traffic light (Hilton Hotel on left corner), turn left onto Island Avenue. At stop sign turn left onto Enterprise Avenue. At stop sign, turn right onto Fort Mifflin Road. Follow road, through short tunnel, to the first left turn. After left hand turn, follow signs straight into the Fort. Free Parking is on the left.
